Jiangsu Huarida Group Secures Landmark 500MW Solar Project in Collaboration with JISCO

April 24, 2025

I. Major Announcement: Huarida and JISCO Jointly Secure 500MW Solar Project

With the full support of Jiuquan Iron and Steel Group (JISCO), Jiangsu Huarida Group officially signed the cooperation agreement for a 500MW photovoltaic power generation project in a northwestern province on September 11, 2024. With a total investment of approximately RMB 2.5 billion, the project is expected to generate 600 million kWh of electricity annually, sufficient to power 300,000 households while reducing CO2 emissions by 500,000 metric tons.

Key Project Highlights:

· Technological Leadership: Utilizing JISCO’s proprietary thick-gauge Zn-Al-Mg coated steel plates (10× more corrosion-resistant than traditional galvanized steel) as core materials for photovoltaic brackets and frames, ensuring durability in harsh environments such as deserts and high-salinity areas

· Smart O&M: Integrated AI-powered solar tracking systems and 5G remote monitoring platforms optimize power generation efficiency and enable predictive maintenance, reducing operational costs by 20%

· Full Industry Chain Synergy: JISCO provides end-to-end support from material supply to technical services, while Huarida oversees design, construction, and operations, forging a “materials + energy” integrated model

II. Strategic Collaboration and Significance

1. Advancing National “Dual Carbon” Goals
Amid global energy transition trends, Huarida aligns with China’s 14th Five-Year Plan for Renewable Energy, prioritizing solar energy as a strategic focus. Leveraging JISCO’s breakthroughs in Zn-Al-Mg coating technology (filling domestic gaps and contributing to international standards), the project extends PV equipment lifespan to 30+ years, enhancing lifecycle profitability

2. JISCO Empowers Industrial Upgrading
As a leader in green steel transformation, JISCO’s hot-dip Zn-Al-Mg products—featuring thick-gauge design, high strength, and low-carbon production—have become the preferred choice for solar支架. The project employs steel plates with 2.0mm thickness and 180g/m² coating weight, achieving 15% weight reduction and 30% cost savings compared to conventional materials

III. Economic and Social Impact

· Economic Benefits: Post-commissioning annual revenue is projected to exceed RMB 300 million, with a payback period shortened to 8 years, driving 30%+ profit growth for Huarida’s renewable energy division.

· Employment Opportunities: Over 1,000 jobs will be created during construction, with 200 technical and managerial roles sustained during operations, revitalizing local economies.

· Environmental Contribution: Equivalent to planting 27 million trees, the project accelerates the partner province’s carbon peaking timeline and establishes a “solar + ecological restoration” benchmark

IV. Leadership Perspectives and Future Vision

Mr. Pan Weihua, Chairman of Huarida Group, stated:
“This collaboration marks a pivotal step in Huarida’s commitment to renewable energy. JISCO’s technological expertise and industrial synergy ensure efficient project execution. Moving forward, we will jointly explore ‘wind-solar-storage-hydrogen’ integrated models to build zero-carbon industrial parks.”

Ms. Du Xin, General Manager of JISCO, emphasized:
“The Huarida project is a milestone in JISCO’s ‘green materials + new energy’ strategy. We will continue advancing Zn-Al-Mg applications in solar, wind, and other sectors, bolstering national energy security and industrial modernization.”
